Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has reached a tentative deal with the United Steelworkers on an enhanced severance package for former Mayfield, Ky., plant workers.
"This agreement will provide much-needed relief to our displaced Mayfield employees as well as benefits for employees that are waiting for jobs in the plant to become available," says Rick Ledsinger, CTNA vice president of human resources.
Details of the deal have not been revealed.
CTNA suspended production "indefinitely" at its Mayfield factory at the end of 2004.
