European farm tire manufacturer Trelleborg Wheel Systems SpA will introduce two new Trelleborg brand ag tires to the North American market later this year that will accompany its full line of Pirelli brand radial farm tires.

The Trelleborg TM 2000 high load capacity tire targets harvesting machines and will be available in two sizes -- 620/75R26 and 800/65R32 -- by mid-2002, according to Trelleborg Wheel Systems President Maurizio Vischi; another size, 650/75R32, will roll out near the end of the year.

The Trelleborg Twin Radial Implement will be available in three sizes by the end of 2002.

Meanwhile, Trelleborg will build its dealer network throughout the United States and Canada, Vischi says. The company would like to have 40 U.S. dealers in place within a year -- 11 have already signed on -- plus three dealers in Canada.

Pirelli and Trelleborg brand farm tires will be distributed by Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. "We have the ability to ship anywhere in North America," says Steve Buck, Hercules general manager and vice president of its Tire Division.

However, Hercules will not be involved in the sales and/or marketing of the products.
