Bandag Inc. has announced that Colony Tire Corp., a major independent commercial and retail tire dealer in eastern North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, will become a Bandag franchised retread dealer.
Colony Tire started in the tire business in 1976, and has grown to become a dealership with more than 400 employees and 40 point-of-sale locations. It is the 30th largest independent tire store chain, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.
Based in Edenton, N.C., Colony Tire will be opening a new Bandag retread manufacturing facility at the headquarter location, with all of Bandag’s latest technology, including the 7400 Insight Casing Analyzer, the 6400 Extruder and BASys manufacturing, Bandag reports.
The new Bandag facility should be completed and ready for production by late October.
