Hankook exceeds $100 million in overseas OE supply; announces OE fitment on Saturn Ion

Hankook Tire has exceeded $100 million in original equipment supply volume to overseas car manufacturers with the goal of reaching $1 billion in exports and annual sales this year.

Hankook disclosed the achievement concurrently with an announcement that it has signed a contract to supply its H725A passenger tire as optional equipment for the 2006 Saturn Ion.

Hankook will provide P205/55R16H size tires for the car. It spent two years developing the H725A.

Hankook supplies tires for Ford, Volkswagon, Renault, Mitsubishi and Daihatsu models, among others.

The South Korean tiremaker also is seeking OE contracts with DaimlerChrysler, Toyota and Mercedes-Benz.
