With the recent opening of six retail outlets, Tire Kingdom Inc. now operates 186 stores in six states.
Four outlets were opened in the following cities in Florida: Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Oviedo. The chain also opened stores in Charlotte and Mooresville, N.C.
Orland Wolford, Tire Kingdom's CEO and president, says six additional stores are currently under construction in Rock Hill, S.C.; Concord and Charlotte, N.C.; and Slidell, Luling and Hammond, La. They are tentatively planned to open during the first half of this year.
Future expansion will "continue to be fueled by a combination of in-house development and careful review of acquisition opportunities," he added.
Tire Kingdom, based in Riviera Beach, Fla., is a subsidiary of TBC Corp. It is the fourth largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
