CTNA, union finish re-opener talks

July 20, 2005

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) and the United Steelworkers have concluded their contract re-opener negotiations.

"The talks, which limited bargaining to retirement issues, will affect benefits for about 3,000 (union) members employed at (CTNA's) Charlotte, N.C.; Bryan, Ohio; and Mayfield, Ky., plants," say union officials.

The agreement includes a pension multiplier increase.

CTNA's current contract with the union expires next year.
