Cooper to add new Oliver treads

July 18, 2005

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s Oliver Retreading Systems division is introducing several new tread designs.

The XS-D will target severe off-road applications. It will boast a 30/32-inch tread depth, say Oliver officials.

The ULP-Rib will represent Oliver's entry into the ultra wide base retreading market. The ULP-Rib will be 390 mm wide with a 16/32-inch tread depth. It will contain strategically positioned step-down ledges to minimize stone retention. The tread will fit size 445/55R11.5 and 445/50R22.5 tires.

Also on the way from Oliver is a newly enhanced Winter Trac II design that is engineered for snow and ice conditions. "It will be introduced in 26/32-inch tread depth in popular size categories."
