Warren County workers may reject agreement with BFNT

June 10, 2005

The Warren County, Tenn., United Steelworkers' executive board has rejected the tentative agreement between the union and Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC and is recommending that union members at the plant turn it down.

BFNT announced yesterday that a tentative deal had been forged for the plant, along with a tentative deal for BFNT's Bloomington, Ill., plant and a master contract that covers four BFNT tire manufacturing facilities, plus two of its BFS Diversified Products LLC facilities.

"The people of our world class facility deserve a world class contract," say representatives from the USW Local 1155L.

Ratification votes on the new contract and agreements have not been conducted yet.
