ITRA Commercial Tire Service 'tour' heads to Illinois, Alabama

Jan. 30, 2002

The Commerical Tire Service (CTS) Technician Training & Certification Seminar series will travel to Chicago, Ill., in February and the Homewood/Birmingham, Ala., area in March.

The seminars are sponsored and by the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) Foundation Inc.

ITRA will conduct two one-day CTS technician and certification seminars in Chicago Feb. 20-21 at the William Tell Holiday Inn in Countryside.

The Chicago stop is the second in a year-long training series ITRA is conducting in regions throughout the country. The organization recently held two seminars in Akron, Ohio. Tuffy Manufacturing and 31 Inc. co-sponsored the Akron series.

The same seminars will be held in Alabama March 20-21. The Alabama Tire Dealers Association is working closely with ITRA to encourage the participation of local tire service technicians.

“We’re happy to report that 32 students participated in the Akron CTS classes, and the Northeast Ohio Tire Dealers, Ohio Tire Dealers, Western Pennsylvania Tire Dealers and Ohio Transportation Associations played a huge role in filling those seats,” said ITRA President Tom Raben. "The Illinois classes are already filling with students from Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan.”

ITRA's CTS Program has trained and certified more than 6,100 technicians from coast to coast since it was formed in 1996.
