Comdata offers TIA members special rates

April 22, 2005

Comdata Corp. will offer members of the Tire Industry Association (TIA) its Fleet Team maintenance software at favorable rates as part of a recent agreement with TIA.

Comdata's Web-based Fleet Team commercial fleet management tool "frees merchants involved in providing parts, maintenance and repair services to fleets from receivables management while allowing them to offer their customers a fleet maintenance system at no cost," according to the company.

Fleet Team pricing is primarily based on transaction volume, according to Comdata. TIA members using Fleet Team will benefit from larger-volume price discounts that are usually available only to large national groups with high sales transaction volumes.

"The vehicle maintenance industry is a $30 billion market, and we believe Fleet Team is positioned to help merchants improve their share in that market," says Pat Madigan, vice president of sales for Fleet Team. "Through TIA, Comdata is able to aggregate the business of many smaller users and offer very favorable rates."

Each time a purchase is made, Fleet Team automatically generates "level three" purchasing information and a maintenance record on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis. The aggregated data allows fleet managers to:

* track maintenance activity and costs;

* build in scheduled reminders when additional preventive maintenance is due.

"Fleet Team is one of the strongest tools we've seen in a while to help our members build their businesses," says Roy Littlefield, TIA's executive vice president. "It supports better cash flow, offers our members' customers a comprehensive management tool at no cost and presents a strong marketing point of difference as our members look for new business."

Comdata, based in Brentwood, Tenn., provides credit and debit processing and reporting for commercial fleets and merchants; electronic cash, gift and smart/chip card programs for retailers and governmental agencies; Comchek eCash payroll services for food, retail and other service industries; and point-of-sale equipment, software and auxiliary services for merchants and convenience stores.
