GM names Goodyear OE on 2003 Cadillac CTS

Jan. 28, 2002

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will supply 100% of the original equipment tires to General Motors Corp.'s 2003 Cadillac CTS luxury performance sedan.

Eagle RS-A tires, in size P225/55HR16, are standard equipment on the CTS base and luxury package. The RS-A, in size P225/50VR17, is included in the luxury sport package.

An export version of the Cadillac CTS for Europe and Japan features V-rated Eagle RS-A performance tires and W-rated Eagle F1 GS ultra-high performance tires.

The Goodyear performance tires were tested on Germany's autobahn and the Nurenburgring race circuit.

The CTS is "the first vehicle to fully carry Cadillac's new forward-thinking 'Art & Science' philosophy of design and engineering excellence to the global market," says John Eagleburger, Goodyear's team leader for the GM account. "General Motors engineered and developed the sedan's European driving feel on the most challenging race circuit in the world."

Engineers from the Goodyear Technical Center in Luxembourg provided logistical and track support during the Nurenburgring tire test sessions.
