Yokohama starts third phase of Philippines plant expansion

Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc. (YTP) has begun the third phase of its $106.7 million plant expansion project in the Clark economic zone of Pampanga.

The expansion is designed to boost production by 20,000 tires a day by September 2006 from its present 9,000 tires a day capacity, according to Asia Pulse.

"YTP president Kazuo Watanabe informed Clark Development Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer Antonio R. Ng that the expansion project will boost the plant production by more than 150%."
