Cooper will announce 1Q results on April 20

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will announce its first-quarter 2005 financial results before the market opens on Wednesday, April 20. A conference call discussing the financial results will begin at 9 a.m. EDT.

Cooper Tire's net sales for the fourth quarter of 2004 totaled $541 million, a company record. Income from continuing operations during 4Q 2004 was $3 million versus $8 million during 4Q 2003.

In North America, Cooper's sales totaled $491 million during the fourth quarter of 2004, a 4% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Operating profit was $14 million versus $24 million during the same period in 2003.

For the full year of 2004, Cooper's North American Tire operations reported sales of $1.9 billion, an 11% increase compared to $1.7 billion in 2003.

Cooper Tire's stock price on the New York Stock Exchange closed at $18.62 a share on April 6. That compares to a 52-week high and low of $23.89 and $17.20, respectively.
