Already at 212 franchise stores, Laval, Quebec-based President Tire would like to add at least 20 new franchisees in 2005, President Tire General Manager Denis Monette recently told moderntiredealer.com.

"If we can sign 20 new franchise members -- and quality ones -- we will have achieved something."

President Tire's sales totaled $62 million in 2004. Monette says 2005 sales are expected to reach $95 million.

The company's President private label brand -- which makes up 55% of President Tire's total sales -- has grown to comprise 3.5% of the Canadian replacement passenger tire market, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics.

An exclusive interview with Monette detailing President Tire's operations and its future plans appears in the March 2005 issue of MTD.
