'Zero-pressure' polyurethane tire passes high-speed testing

March 4, 2005

Amerityre Corp. reports it has successfully completed high-speed testing of its experimental non-pneumatic or "zero-pressure" polyurethane tire in testing done in compliance with FMVSS 129, the safety standard governing the testing of non-pneumatic car tires.

The polyurethane elastomer tire compound has now performed well in two of the laboratory tests required under the standard, company officials say. Additional tests will be performed within the next few weeks.

"We are extremely encouraged by the results of the high-speed testing," says Richard Steinke, Amerityre's president and CEO. "Our polyurethane compound, once again, shows it can run cool even under heavy loads without breaking down."
