Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. increased the price of its precure tread rubber and cushion gum up to 6% today.
Goodyear also has hiked its strip and slab rubber prices by up to 5%.
In addition, the price of the Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker's Ultima brand precure tread rubber rose up to 8%, while its Ultima strip and slab rubber went up to 7%.
Goodyear attributed the increases to escalating raw material costs, high energy rates and rising transportation costs.
