The World Tire Expo's Retread Appearance Contest will be sponsored by the Tread Rubber & Repair Materials Manufacturers' Group (TRMG), say Tire Industry Association (TIA) officials.
The World Tire Expo will be held April 20-22 in Louisville, Ky.
TRMG will award $500 to the "Best of Show" winners in the following categories: passenger/light truck, mold cure truck, precure truck and specialty/OTR.
"We are proud to sponsor an event that features the workmanship and quality of today's retreaded tires," says Norm Ball, TRMG president.
To register, log onto TIA's Web site at www.tireindustry.org or call (800) 876-8372, ext. 106. Deadline for applications is March 31.
Shamrock Marketing in Louisville, Ky., will warehouse the retreads. All retreads must be shipped to Shamrock by April 8.
