Smithers Scientific Services has hired Michael Bair as senior manager of technical services and sales. He joins Smithers from Michelin North America Inc., where he was senior technical and regulatory advisor to the legal department.
Bair, 59, will be responsible for new tire business development, project management and product analysis, with a focus on business opportunities with various tire manufacturers, suppliers, government agencies and military organizations worldwide.
"Mike has an excellent technical understanding about tires, their performance characteristics, and proper selection and application,"
says Raymond Farmer, Smithers’ vice president and chief operating officer.
Bair served more than 32 years at Michelin at various positions, dealing with all product lines from passenger to off-the-road earthmover tires.
