Alcoa Wheel hires new v.p. of marketing

Alcoa Wheel Products has hired Curtis Samford as vice president of marketing.

Samford will develop strategic vision and market direction for Alcoa, says the company.

He has more than 20 years of global experience in marketing, sales, management and engineering. Most recently, he was with UniPure Corp., where he served as vice president of commercialization, helping develop new markets and business models to strategically reposition the company.

Prior to joining UniPure, Samford was the director of sales -– North America for a division of Shell Oil and Chemical Co. providing specialty products and chemicals to the automotive and heavy-duty trucking industry.

He will be based in Alcoa’s Center for Transportation Headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio.
