Michelin North America Inc. reports its Waterville, Nova Scotia, Canada, plant has just built its 20 millionth tire.
The company marked the event by donating a total of $20,000 to several local charitable organizations during a celebration at the plant attended by community leaders and representatives from local charities and the government.
The plant began manufacturing truck and small industrial tires in 1982. It employs 1,100 people and last year secured a $16 million investment to produce large industrial and construction tires.
