Donations from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.´s Asian subsidiaries are helping tsunami victims in the area.
"Right now, (our) Asia-Pacific region has organized relief efforts in each of the countries where we do business," a Goodyear spokesman told moderntiredealer.com this morning.
"In Indonesia, collections so far (total) $15,000, including $10,000 given by Goodyear Indonesia."
Goodyear employees in Malaysia have collected clothing and food, while workers in Thailand have donated blood.
"In India, associates are voluntarily donating a day´s salary, which will be matched by the company in India."
Bridgestone Corp., Continental AG and Groupe Michelin also have donated to relief efforts.
