ATD enters Northwest in a big, sudden way

Dec. 12, 2010

American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) has acquired three distribution centers in the northwestern United States, bringing its total to 86 nationwide.

The two acquisitions are:

1. Lisac's of Washington Inc. ("substantially all the assets," says ATD). The purchase includes distribution centers in Portland, Ore., and Spokane, Wash., that serviced more than 1,400 customers in Montana, Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho.

2. Tire Wholesalers Inc.  Tire Wholesalers operated one D/C in Kent, Wash., that serviced more than 750 customers in western Washington.

ATD says its recently announced plan to build a 126,000-square-foot distribution center in the Seattle, Wash., area in the first quarter of 2011 will continue as scheduled.

"Lisac’s and Tire Wholesalers have both developed solid distribution businesses in their respective markets,” says William “Bill” Berry, CEO and president of American Tire Distributors.

ATD offers depth of both product and dealer marketing programs to its wholesale dealer network in 39 states. For more information, visit atd-us.com.
