Nov. 27, 2002

Bridgestone Corp. has announced plans to build a new factory in Thailand, its third in that country.

The $136 million factory will manufacture up to 2,500 radial truck and bus tires a day and will begin operation during the second half of 2004.

Tires produced there will be exported to North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and other Asian countries, according to Bridgestone officials.

The facility will be Bridgestone's 46th tire plant worldwide.
