Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has introduced the Hercules Tour 4.0 Plus, an all-season passenger tire that is available in 10 sizes, ranging from 14 inches to 16 inches in diameter.
"Branded with the M+S symbol, the Hercules Tour 4.0 Plus provides all-season capability on wet, dry and light snow," say Hercules officials.
The tire contains, among other features:
* an asymmetrical tread design, which provides a "smooth and quiet ride while increading handling characteristics."
* cross-block siping for crisp handling in bad weather.
* silica-enhanced compounds for "superior traction in wet without tread life reduction."
* a nylon overwrap, which enhances uniformity and boosts ride stability.
The tire also boasts an asymmetrical tread design and a "stylish sidewall... for a premium performance look."
More than 15 new sizes will be added to the line during spring 2011, says Joshua Simpson, Hercules vice president of marketing. They will range from 175/70R13 to 225/60R17.
"We're also expanding our current lines with size additions. We'll be adding sizes to the Terra Trac A/T, which is our most popular tire."
Hercules is displaying the new Tour 4.0 Plus, plus other tires, at its Global Tire Expo - Powered by TIA/Specialty Equipment Market Association Show booth. The show runs through today, Nov. 5.
