Titan enters contract talks with USW

Oct. 28, 2010

Titan International Inc. has started negotiating a new labor contract with the United Steelworkers union. The parties' current pact expires on Nov. 19.

Titan has three manufacturing plants: Bryan, Ohio; Freeport, Ill.; and Des Moines, Iowa. Together, the factories have the capacity to produce more than 19,000 tires daily, according to MTD research.

Titan Chairman and CEO Morry Taylor says he has told USW officials that "you can make anything complicated or you can make it simple. Big wages require 100% effort. Everybody wants to resolve this issue in a satisfactory manner and we look forward to continue growing our company."
