Monroe, Ind.-based Best-One Tire & Service tops Modern Tire Dealer's 2010 Top 25 United States Commercial Tire Dealer list with 65 commercial-only outlets, 117 combination commercial-retail outlets and 17 retread plants.

Bend, Ore.-based Les Schwab Tire Centers came in at number two. The dealership has 425 combination outlets and three retread plants. Columbia, Miss.-based Southern Tire Mart ranked third; it has 58 commercial-only stores, two combination shops and 17 retread shops.

Green Bay, Wis.-based Pomp's Tire Service took the number four slot. It has 25 commercial-only stores, 44 combination locations and 12 retread plants. Rounding out the "top five" was Snider Tire Inc. of Greensboro, N.C., which has 44 commercial-only stores, plus five retread plants.

For the full list -- which also details the truck tire brands that each dealership sells, plus the number of service trucks they operate -- see the October issue of MTD, available now.

Dealerships were ranked according to MTD's proprietary formula, which came up with a point total for each company. Each commercial-only outlet received two points and each retread shop received one point. Each dealership's number of combination stores was multiplied by the estimated percentage of commercial tire sales at those locations. That number was then multiplied by two. All calculations were added to come up with a grand total.
