Goodyear wins social responsibility award

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has been named one of the top 50 socially responsible companies in the U.S. by the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship and the Reputation Institute.

Based on a survey of U.S. consumers, Goodyear earned a rating of 74.4, ranking 32nd on the 2010 Boston College Corporate Responsibility Index.

"The Corporate Social Responsibility Index captures public perceptions about the corporate citizenship, governance and workplace practices of more than 200 companies in the U.S.," say Goodyear officials.
