JMK System develops Google-style J-Search

Oct. 11, 2010

JMK Computerized Tire Dealer Information System Inc., which markets its own integrated tire and vehicle service business management software system, has developed a new search feature: J-Search.

"Our new search option uniquely gives the counter person simple, direct and immediate access to inventory; industry-supplied, vehicle-specific data; and customer history with both text and pictures, so that they can devote more of the customer contact time to build on past relations to close the sale today," says Jim Krakower, JMK's director of system development.

He says J-Search is "especially useful" for

* multi-location operations "where the same customer will shop in more than one store of a chain, and it is convenient to 'see' all related data at once."

* wholesale operations in which price and availability are key issues.

* close inventory counts "where past sales were made with write-in item numbers and (salespeople) have difficulty looking up that history using a standard simple item number search."

"In today's market, many company's are at lean staff levels, and the salesperson has only a short window of time to grab the customer's attention with skill and motivation," says Krakower. "Our J-Search technique allows for simple character and optional mouse entries so that the system does the 'heavy lifting' and evaluation."

Integration with the JMK Document Imaging System allows a dealer's staff to immediately display images of supporting invoice, alignment sheet, hand-written work orders, part warranty cards, etc.,
from past customer contact -- regardless of what store location initiated the initial service.

This new option will be on display at the JMK SEMA Show booth. For more information, visit www.jmktdis.com.
