Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has introduced a new "maximum performance tire," the Toyo Proxes 1. The tire is available to fit 18- to 19-inch wheels.
Toyo is billing the Proxes 1 as its most technologically advanced tire, "developed with a focus on high-speed performance, cornering and braking," according to Toyo officials.
The tire contains Toyo's TruForm technology, which "results in better uniformity and improved handling performance thanks to a high-rigidity belt package that reduces tread deformation." It also contains Toyo's Silent Wall technology, which reduces noise levels.
Six of the tire's 10 sizes feature a multi-compound tread "engineered for high-speed handling, cornering and braking while four sizes designed for rear-wheel applications have a compound and design focused on vehicle balance and improved cornering power."
Additional features include interlocking tread blocks and a multi-function taper applied to the inside of certain tread blocks. The Proxes 1 "is the first multi-compound product Toyo has brought to the U.S."
