Crumb rubber myths debunked at TIA show

Sept. 16, 2010

An official from Liberty Tire Recycling promises to debunk myths about crumb rubber during the upcoming Tire Industry Association (TIA) Environmental Symposium.

Mike Wezel, Liberty Tire's vice president of sales and marketing, will discuss how "environmental activists and others continue to perpetuate myths and misconceptions concerning the use of recycled rubber in various rubber-based products," say TIA officials.

"Specifically, he discusses how study after study has concluded that the use of crumb rubber in products such as synthetic turf or playground surfaces poses no health or environmental risk."
