Chinese tire manufacturer DMACK to enter World Rally Championship in 2011

Sept. 15, 2010

Following Michelin's announcement this week that the FIA has accepted their entry into the WRC, it is reported on www.autosport.com that DMACK will join them as tire suppliers to the series in 2011.

Dick Cormack, DMACK's motorsport director, said " technically the new regulations are very achievable for a manufacturer and we based our proposal on bringing a very strong and durable product to the championship. We also wanted to help encourage more entries into the events by offering a two-tier pricing structure."

It is reported that work on the gravel tires is in progress and DMACK expects to make available tires for competitors to test by the end of October.

"Ongoing testing of the WRC tires is taking place at our research facility in China and at the hands of our test driver Mark Higgins. As the first Chinese tire manufacturer to enter the WRC, we see the opportunity to take the DMACK and Yongtai brands to a wholw new level." Cormack said.
