Bridgestone Corp. is making a major investment in its passenger tire plant in Nong Khae, Thailand.
The 21.3 billion yen investment will boost daily production capacity from 36,500 to 50,000 units by the end of 2014.
The 15-year-old factory supplies tires to the Asian, North American and European markets, say Bridgestone officials. "With global demand expected to continue to grow, the Bridgestone Group determined that future expansion of the plant is necessary to meet market demands."
