Nov. 30, 2001

Keene, N.H.-based Tire Warehouse Central Inc. has sent the first in a series of checks to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

The donation totaled $1,111.

And for the next 11 months on the 11th of each month, the 25-outlet dealership will send a check for the same amount to the Red Cross for a total contribution of more than $12,000.

In addition, every Tire Warehouse employee will wear a t-shirt imprinted with the American flag on the 11th of each month "to show (our) support for the victims of the Sept. 11 tragedies," says Tire Warehouse President Bob Dabrowski.

CBS will detail the dealership's campaign on an upcoming episode of its Sunday Morning program that will examine how September's terrorist attacks have affected rural America.

"The donation from Tire Warehouse will help the American Red Cross to provide disaster services in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and across the nation," says Andrea Johnston, executive director of the New Hampshire West Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Tire Warehouse is the 42nd largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.
