Snap-on funny car to celebrate Snap-on’s 90th anniversary

Aug. 11, 2010

In recognition of Snap-on’s 90th Anniversary, the Snap-on Funny Car, driven by Cruz Pedregon, will feature a special wrap commemorating Snap-on’s 90 years. The 90th Anniversary Snap-on Funny Car will hit the track August 12-15 at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minn.

“At Snap-on, we are celebrating our 90th Anniversary in a variety of ways during the month of August, so we felt it was only appropriate that the Snap-on Funny Car recognize that special event as well,” said Alicia Smales, vice president of marketing for Snap-on Tools. “Snap-on has a long and distinguished association with the NHRA and its top drivers, especially Cruz Pedregon who we have had a relationship with for over 18 years.  The NHRA Nationals in Brainerd will be a terrific opportunity to highlight our 90th Anniversary as we will have over 1,000 customers and franchisees at the track cheering Cruz on to victory.”

At the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, the Snap-on 90th Anniversary logo will be featured prominently on the Snap-on Funny Car.  In addition, Cruz Pedregon and his racing team will wear special edition Snap-on 90th Anniversary racing suits for the weekend.

In addition to the Snap-on Funny Car, the 90th Anniversary logo will also appear on the hood of the No. 62 Rusty Wallace Racing Toyota for the NASCAR Nationwide race on August 20 at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.  Snap-on is the primary sponsor of the No. 62 car which Brendan Gaughan will be driving.
