Somerset Tire Service rolls out remodeling plan

Nov. 29, 2001

Bound Brook, N.J.-based Somerset Tire Service (STS) Inc. has launched a store remodeling plan that includes consumer-oriented educational elements.

STS stores' "new look will include posters and signs that detail various components of customers' cars" and the various mechanical services the chain provides, according to a STS spokesperson.

STS derives 40% of its $100 million-per-year annual sales from automotive service.

Outlets also will be given a "more modern" appearance.

STS officials expect 10 stores to be completely remodeled by the end of the year; all 83 STS outlets will undergo the transformation eventually.

STS is the 10th largest independent tire store chain in North America, according to Modern Tire Dealer statistics. It sells Goodyear, Toyo, Michelin, Continental, Firestone and Bridgestone brand tires.
