Another Double Coin Holdings Ltd. medium truck tire, the Double Coin FR605, has been verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SmartWay program.
Double Coin now has three SmartWay-approved medium truck tires, including the FT105 and the FD405.
The FR605 contains a five-rib tread design, extensive siping, and side shoulder decoupler grooves. It also contains special tread compounds and "highly developed internal construction" to provide lower rolling resistance levels, according to Double Coin officials.
"We know there is a continuing demand from our customers to provide the utmost in quality and value," says Aaron Murphy, vice president of China Manufacturers Alliance LLC, a Double Coin subsidiary. "Customers who participate in the EPA SmartWay programs -- at either the OEM or aftermarket level -- have a SmartWay-verified opton from Double Coin."
Double Coin says it is working towards reducing the rolling resistance levels on all of its branded tires "to meet potential, future government regulations. Double Coin plans to add additional products to the EPA's SmartWay list... based on market demand and end user requirements."
