Product quality top attribute, says MTD survey

Respondents to Modern Tire Dealer’s recent 2010 Truck Tire Survey ranked product quality as the most important supplier attribute, while profitability came in at a close second.

Dealers listed fill rate as the third most important supplier attribute, warranty/adjustment policy as the fourth most important attribute, and retreadability as the fifth most important supplier attribute.

Rounding out the list (in descending order):

* Technical support.

* Brand awareness among end users.

* Marketing support to the end user.

* Fuel efficiency/low rolling resistance.

* Original equipment fitments

When asked if they plan to add or drop a truck tire line or multiple lines in 2010, 18% of respondents said yes. Eighty-two-percent said no.
