Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. says it will donate $20,000 to Support Our Troops, a non-profit dedicated to bolstering the morale of U.S. armed service personnel and their families.
As part of the program, Goodyear has announced a red, white and blue design for all Goodyear Eagle tires that will be used during the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races over the July 4 weekend.
The tires also will bear the slogan, "Support Our Troops," on their sidewalls.
The Akron, Ohio-based tire company also will hold an auction at www.goodyear.com to help raise money for the charity. The auction starts July 3 and will run through July 17.
