Union ratifies contract at Yokohama's Salem plant

United Steelworkers Local 1023 says it has reached a new, four-year labor contract with Yokohama Tire Corp. that covers workers at the tiremaker's consumer tire plant in Salem, Va.

The 42-year-old factory can produce 22,500 and 600 light truck tires per day at full capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.

The new pact will expire on May 16, 2014.
