Yokohama Rubber announces changes

Following the release of its 2010 fiscal year results (see "Yokohama turns net loss into net gain"), Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. announced a number of senior management changes.

The changes were adopted by the company's board of directors, and will be formally be approved after the general meeting of shareholders on June 25, 2010. The promotions are (with current title in parentheses):

Director and vice president: Norio Karashima (director and senior managing corporate officer).

Director and managing corporate officer: Hikomitsu Noji (director and corporate officer).

Director: Fumio Morita (corporate officer).

Senior managing corporate officer: Koichi Tanaka (managing corporate officer).

Managing corporate officers: Misao Hiza and Takao Oishi (corporate officers).

Five employes were promoted to corporate officer: Takaharu Fushimi, Tadashi Suzuki, Hideto Katsuragawa, Hirohisa Hazama and Tetsuya Kuze.

Three executives will retire in June. Tatsunari Kojima is retiring as a director and senior managing corporate officer. He will remain an advisor to the company.

Managing Corporate Officers Seiji Takai and Toshio Izawa also are retiring. They, too, will become advisors.

The board also announced two organizational changes. Yokohama will create a new position, president of the Tire Group, and will establish a "Global Procurement Division."
