Bridgestone to hike Firestone, Dayton prices

Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) will raise prices on its Firestone and Dayton brand truck and bus tires up to 6% on June 1.

The company raised prices on its Bandag retread materials up to 6% on May 1.

Kurt Danielson, vice president of sales and marketing for BBTS, says the firm "continues to look for ways to balance costs and continue to deliver a premium package of value to our dealer and fleet customers."

However, price increases are necessary due to "the unrelenting escalation of costs outside of our control," including raw material, fuel and energy.

Continental will hike passenger and light truck tire prices up to 6% and medium truck tire prices up to 7%. Cooper will increase prices on all of its passenger and light truck tires up to 7.5%. Falken will increase prices on its passenger and light truck tire lines up to 6%, while boosting its radial medium truck tire prices by up to 4%.
