Conti announces sponsorships, return to show

Continental Tire the Americas LLC (CTA) will participate in a variety of events this year, including exhibiting at the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, which will be held in November.

Travis Roffler, CTA director of marketing, made the announcement during last week's Continental Gold Dealer meeting, held in Nassau, the Bahamas.

During his presentation, Roffler also detailed two major sponsorship agreements that CTA has put together. Continental will be the official sponsor and tire of Grand-Am Racing, starting this year. In addition, Continental will be the official tire of Major League Soccer (MLS), a U.S.-based soccer league.

CTA will promote the MLS sponsorship with in-store point-of-purchase kits for its dealers, store visits by MLS players, in-store giveaways, and more.

MLS, which has 18 teams throughout the U.S. and Canada, is rapidly gaining momentum, Roffler told dealers. Each national MLS broadcast averages 26 million viewers, he said. Continental is expected to receive eight to 10 minutes of TV exposure at each game.
