Bob Katz, owner of Nu-Tread Tire Co. in East Boston, Mass., and Tire Industry Association (TIA) board member, met with Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick last week to discuss the rising cost of health care coverage.

Katz told Patrick that his business has incurred unsustainable health insurance premium increases of more than 20% each year for the past several years.

He was one of a handful of businesspeople invited to provide input on how the rising cost of health care is impacting businesses in the state.

"Many of the featires of the health care legislation passed in Massachusetts, including the mandatory purchasing of health insurance by all residents, have been included in the health care legislation recently passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama," TIA officials said in a recent press release.
