The Toyo M154 medium truck tire has received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay verification when used in a set on a rig also equipped with Toyo's M657 drive and M127 trailer tires.
This is the fourth truck tire from Toyo to have earned SmartWay honors. "We are proud to have the M154 included in the EPA's SmartWay program," says Lori Simonelli, senior director of technical services for Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
The M154 is manufactured using Toyo's e-balance technology, which focuses on a stiffer belt package, stiffer bead construction and "optimization through simulation technology," according to Toyo officials. "Benefits include improved tire life, improved endurance, improved irregular wear resistance and improved fuel consumption."
