Yokohama Tire Corp. will display its four Zenvironment medium truck tires at this week's Mid-America Trucking Show. Zenvironment tires are designed for low rolling resistance.
Tires to be displayed include the 703ZL, 103ZR, 501ZA and Yokohama's new, premium long-haul steer tire, the 101ZL.
The 101ZL, along with the 703ZL and the 103ZR, are on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's list of SmartWay-verified products. Yokohama now has seven truck tires that are on the SmartWay list.
"Low rolling resistance tires are good for the environment because they improve fuel efficiency by minimizing the energy wasted (as heat) as the tire rolls down the road," says John Cooney, Yokohama's director of commercial sales.
