Pirelli Tire SpA, a division of Pirelli & Cie SpA, will supply Automobili Lamborghini Holding SpA with original equipment tires for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera supercar.
The agreement is part of a continuing collaboration between the companies that includes not only tire technology but also racing and "main events" organized by Lamborghini.
The PZero Corsa System OE tires, recently showcased at the International Motor Show in Geneva, Switzerland, will be supplied in exclusive sizes, according to the company:
235/35ZR19 in the front, and
295/30ZR19 in the rear.
"The new tires reduce environmental impact by utilizing compounds and solutions that decrease rolling resistance," says Pirelli. "In addition, R&D developed performance characteristics that give drivers maximum safety and handling for their new Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera."
The PZero Corsa front tires feature a directional tread design; the P Zero Corsa Asymmetric rear tires have an asymmetric tread pattern that the company says "decreases (their) susceptibility to hydroplaning."
