The final tally was $83,648.

“When we say ‘Dunn Tire Cares,’ it’s not just words, it’s our fundamental corporate philosophy,” says Randall Clark, chairman of Dunn Tire, “and we translate our beliefs into actionable items and tangible results as often as we can. Our annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and Holiday Food drives are other examples.”

Dunn Tire, a 29-store retail chain based in Buffalo, N.Y., donated the money to Hands On Disaster Relief (HODR), a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization that provides hands-on assistance to survivors of natural disasters around the world, with, as its slogan goes, "maximum impact and minimum bureaucracy."

“The stories of generosity from our community are heartwarming," says Clark. “We had a nine-year-old girl come into one of our stores in Rochester (N.Y.) with her mom. She brought us all of her allowance money, nine dollars, because she said she wanted to help the people that didn’t have homes anymore.”

HODR is currently operating a response project in Leogane, Haiti, a city 90% destroyed by the earthquake. For additional information on HODR, visit www.HODR.org.
