Groupe Michelin has introduced the Michelin Pilot Sport 3, which combines "on-road performance with environmental features," according to Michelin officials. The tire will be launched in North America later this year.
Initially, it is being rolled out in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.
The Sport 3 "is suitable for sporty city cars, compacts and large, powerful sedans, as well as small sports cars, such as roadsters and coupes, with the extra-large, 18- to 19-inch range serving as original equipment on non-sporting models."
The tire contains a number of Michelin technologies, including the company's Green Power Compound, Anti-Surf System and Programmed Distortion tire architecture.
