TIA: Feedback will lead to recommendations

Jan. 25, 2010

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has received all of the feedback solicited from the major tire manufacturers following the Dec. 17, 2009, focus group and a follow-up conference call held Jan. 21.

The association says compiling the results and finalizing a list of recommendations to Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) officials is well underway. (For background information on the focus group, see "TIA collects tiremakers' feedback on SEMA Show" and "SEMA, TIA promote 'spirit of cooperation.'")

TIA anticipates having this phase completed no later than mid-February.

"The call was lively and productive,” says Wayne Croswell, president of TIA and moderator of the Jan. 21 meeting. "The manufacturers are very forthcoming with recommendations, and we are anxious to move this process along.”

"TIA is well aware that we must act in a timely fashion if we are to identify and formulate any recommendations to SEMA, and we are well on our way to achieving this,” says Roy Littlefield, TIA's executive vice president.

"We are pleased that SEMA is open to our input, and we believe this will only help in continuing to make the SEMA Show a valuable event to the tire industry.”
