Tire Technology Expo 2010 plans tire sessions

Tire Technology Expo 2010, to be held Feb. 9 - 11 in Cologne, German, will boast more then 130 exhibitors involved in tire manufacturing and technology.

Along with the exhibition, the event will host "what is undoubtedly the best conference in the 10-year history of the event," say the show organizers. "The show will also feature the well established Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence, which will be announced at the event’s gala dinner on Feb. 10."

For the 2010 conference, the event will deliver more speakers and content, with the addition of an optional two-day Rubber Materials Short Course run in conjunction with Queen Mary, University of London.

Exhibitors at the show will feature a range of new technologies and materials including pressure sensor electronics, additives and adhesion resins, valve technology, weaving systems, X-ray inspection and testing equipment.

This years’ three-day conference boasts a line-up of internationally renowned speakers focusing on current and future trends in tire design and manufacturing. 

Day 1 Session: After the recession, new vehicle and tire technology, are they ready to go? The status of car tire run-flat and run-on performance; manufacturing the new generation of tires; steel and textile reinforcement materials; and polymers for tires.

Day 2 Session: How far can the virtual tire develop? Rubber in Engineering Group; the future development of goods transportation tires; Tyrosafe; and global tire regulations update.

Day 3 Session: Integrating the tire to the vehicle. Tire fillers: Where is technology leading?; Improvements in tire and compound theory and practice; Dublin Institute of Technology; and the performance of off-road tires.
